How many of you put the Convertible...
....car seat on your registry? I put the infant seat only.

We put one infant seat plus two bases and two convertibles on the registry. I've noticed that the convertibles are a pain to install / uninstall, so we wanted one for each car

I did and I received it from my best friend! I also used it when my son was 4 months old because he outgrew the infant one!

We bought the infant seat ourselves a while ago so since we didn't put that one on our registry we put the convertible one on.

i registered for an infant seat, an extra base and 2 convertible seats...they have all been purchased too 
i have a huge family and my shower is going to be fairly large...people have been calling my mom and complaining that i dont have enough "big stuff" on my registry so i didnt feel guilty adding the 3 car seats!

An infant seat can be used as part of a travel system and a convertible can be used WAY longer. You don't have to get an infant seat, but most people find them to be easier in the long run b/c you can snap it in and out of the base easily and it can be snapped into the stroller (or snap and go) easily.
To answer the original question, we didn't put the convertible seat on. I feel like since the most recent babies in our family haven't used them til the baby was a year old that it is something DH and I can purchase later on. Plus DS is rather small (so far) so our infant seat looks like it will be sticking around for a while.

We only put the convertibles on our registry and all of them were bought (all 3). We need one for each car and my MIL's since she will be watching the baby 40 hours a week. I am too small to carry around the infant seats with a baby inside and I'm not a fan of them personally.
