How many Christmas toys do you buy?
Do you have a limit on how many toys you buy, or do you just make a budget and stay in it?
So far each of my kids has 8-10 gifts, and I think that is enough. I bought one gift for everyone (a kitchen).
ETA:I tend to skimp a little because my Mom buys them a TON of gifts. So far she's bought each girl 20 presents and my 2 year old now has a John Deere tractor courtesy of grandma

We celebrate hanukkah so DS gets 8 presents, but some things like the thomas the train track set also comes with some extra trains we also purchased.

I just got DS 2 things but he is only 10 weeks old so he won't know the difference! If I were you I woudl do the same thing, your mom is so generous!!!!

So far, I haven't really limited myself to # of toys or $ spent. I just buy what I think she'll like, until I run out of ideas. I imagine when she gets older and really starts "asking" for stuff, or wants expensive stuff I'll have to put a limit on it, but for now I just shop til I'm satisfied. I do know that she's going to get from others too, but I guess there are just some things I feel like I want to make sure she gets so I buy them.

20 presents from Grandma?!??!?! WOW!!!!!! 
Last year (when he was 4 months) we bought soooooo much!!!!!! We gave them all on Christmas, but not like he knew. Some of the presents we found on MAJOR deal and didn't bring out until he was old enough. In fact, a few were for 18+ months and we just brought those out. (Yep, took a year to bring out everything) This year, we only bought a few. But his kitchen was a big purchase.

Honestly, I don't know how many gifts i buy until the night before when I start putting them under the tree. At that time is when I say to myself.."i did it again" becuse there is waaaaay to many! My inlaws are CRAZY with gfts. I should learns my lesson, but I am also an impulse shopper, so when I see something for the kids..I must buy.

DS will probably only get about 5 gifts or so from us.....but like the OP my mom goes nuts too. She probably has about 20 gifts for him too, including a train table and full train set
