0-3 onsies....honestly I have about 50. And I took about 20 back. I took mostly the white ones ( plain ) back since we have SOO many with designs on them.

Bottles- I have Avent -newborn starter kit and an extra set of 3 4 0z's and some samples I have gotten from BRU.

I also have Playtex Ventaires..I think 4....2 bigger, two smaller ones.

Receiving blankets- package of 6 and a miracle blanket I bought online. ( and a swaddle me)

crib sheets- 5

toys- like what?

We have a basket full of little rattles, teethers, hand held toys, toys that snap onto stroller etc.

Babies generally live in onesies so you will want a bunch of those.
Bottles: I think its personal preference.
I always went through a bunch of different ones.
Receiving blankets: you need a bunch. Always use them to swaddle them up around their onesies.
Crib sheets: I would say like 3 or 4.
Toys: a few for starters.

I have the vent aire starter kit, my friend told me to get another brand too, I was thinking the avent too....

Did you get a boppy? I think I am going to even tho I am not using the boobies.

I have three crib sheets, but I just realized it may be a while til he sleeps in the crib, so maybe I should wait on those?

I can't believe I got no 0-3s, I got a bunch of 3-6s. But who really cares, I mean, then i can buy my own with gc's and the 50 million dollars in credits I am going to have at BRU thanks to MILChat Icon Chat Icon

We got some soft toys, and allegedly my SIL is sending us a play yardChat Icon

Re: How many....

I did get a boppy and Im not breastfeeding either....Its good to use to keep them positioned etc.

crib sheets liek you said you can wait on. I wanted at least 5 b/c I know we will do laundry not often and I didnt want to run out.

I would get some onsies, since hes gonna be a summer baby and you will want to have him comfy and he might need to be changed often ...

Toys, like you said Lots of little ones and then we have a play mat gym thingy and an excersaucer and the typical swing, bouncer and are going to borrow a jumparoo from a friend when he gets bigger to see if he likes it.

Im not preggo- but BTDT mom-

My 2 cents if you wish:

As far as the boppy... My son was breast fed as a baby- and it was a godsend... Now my son is 19 months old and takes 2 milk bottles/day and it is still a godsend! Every morning he wakes up drags it in front of sesame street (the only TV he watches) and drinks his morning baba...

Onesies- you can never have enough in the begining- You are so busy- you may not get to the laundry as often- and I used them even in the summer... I perfer plain white ones- therefore when my son is wearing light color clothing, the patterns and colors dont come through!

Bottles- I used Dr. Browns and loved them- truthfully you wont know whats best for your baby until your baby gets here- I think those mini feeders (4oz bottles) are the biggest waste... Your child will seriously only use them like the 1st month... The big ones are just as good- (after all you are the one holding them)
I have about 10-12- this was a good amount... but I have a dishwasher- so since I ran it everynight I always had bottles for the next day!

Rec. Blankets- maybe 3 or 4??? I never really used them.. I had so many other blankets, and always used a swaddle me- I didnt see what purpose these things had!

Crib sheets- again something you cant have enough of... esp. when your baby is sick or leaks @ night! I would also rec'd getting an extra waterproof mattres cover (since you wont be doing laundry @ 2am )

Toys: I would only get a few puppet-ish things (aside from like a swing, activity center, floor gym etc) Its a good 6 months before they actually sit and play... so many people bring you rattles and things at the hospital.. plus with holidays and stuff... You will get a bunch of toys!
