how long should curtains be....
DH finally got around to putting my panels up in the living room, we have two windows separated by about three feet that go from almost ceiling to about two feet above the floor. The panels we put up end about four inches under the window but I am now wondering if they should be to the floor and I messed up??? I spent over $100 on them and not sure we can return them now either but , I am just not sure??????

they don't have to go all the way to the floor, they sell different sizes - do u have a pic?

You can do just below the window, or to the floor. If you have baseboard heat below the window you're better off having the curtains go just below the window. If you cover the baseboard heat then you lose all that heat right up the space between the curtains and the window instead of warming the room. It is also a fire hazard for some types of heat. If it's the hot water baseboard heat you're OK, it doesn't get nearly hot enough to cause fire, but if it's electric baseboard heat it's a serious fire hazard to have the curtains covering the heater.

I agree-that is the look I like.
I made a mistake with my LR curtains and will need to replace them-they hang just past the window and it drives me crazy.

Sadly, I think this is me too, it is just bothering me. I don't have a photo and the heat is not an issue, there is just molding.....SOOO mad at myself for throwing away packaging and receipt!!! Lesson learned, next time measure!!

Mine are about 6 inches above the floor and I think they look good that way. Can you hang the rod lower? That might buy you a few inches, but I'm not sure it would make a huge difference. Do you have high ceilings? What length did you get?

Perhaps the issue is not with the curtain length, but more of where you positioned the rod.
Curtains usually come in 63" or 84" (some will even go to 96"
Can you reposition the rod lower so they hang closer to the floor? I'm not a fan of curtains hitting the floor personally (dust collects there very easily) but more like an inch or so above.
You could also hem the curtains so they end at window height instead, if you really like them and can't move the rods.
