How long is your commute....
Mine is like 2 1/2 hours and i must say it was a big determining factor in me leaving 3 weeks before my due date. My last day is June 8th. I live in PA and commute everyday to Long Island.

Re: How long is your commute....
My commute is 1 hour 20 minutes each way door to door (LIRR, Subway and walk).
I have to admit that in my 36th week I am finding it to be uncomfortable. My boss has been cool enough to suggest that I start splitting my time between NYC and LI (we have an office there too). I might have to start doing that but I am determined to work to the end so I have more time with my little man.

Re: How long is your commute....
Ok see..your commute makes more sense.. you live FAR! I live in the Bronx and if I take the "xpress bus" it takes me sometimes 1 -1/2 hours to get to work!.Forget about going home!! Tack on another 45 minutes!!!
By Train (if all runs on time) - 45 minutes

Re: How long is your commute....
My commute is 1 hour 30 min door to desk. LIRR then walk from Penn.
It's getting a little longer these days as I am walking slower but it's not a bad walk. Not sure how I'll do it in the hot summer.

Re: How long is your commute....
I say it all the time but I have to say it to you girls - I worked in the city for 7 years and I give you all soooooo much credit for commuting and being preggo!
It's hard enough to do when you are not pregnant - that for those of you who do it everyday I really have so much respect for you.

20-25 minutes by car.
I commuted for years in the City. I did it for 1 week in NYC at 26 wks.
I could not do it on a regular basis.

Re: How long is your commute....
I'm an hour 1/2 door to door. It doesn't seem like it's that long though.
I have to drive to the LIRR, park and walk about 5 blocks to the train.
Then, I take the 1 train downtown and walk a few blocks.
It's getting very tiring!

Re: How long is your commute....
LI to Brooklyn. The commute is about 1 1/2 hours goiing home--in the morning, it's usually 1 hour 15 minutes.
I think it's going to really get to me as time goes on, particularly the subway part of it. But it didn't make sense to me to look for a new job now. Maybe after baby arrives...

Re: How long is your commute....
about 1 hour, but my trains are horrible, especially the G train which runs on its own schedule which is non existant (sometimes I wait 15-25 min for that one)

Re: How long is your commute....
Oh my God, the G is horrible! The schedules are bizarre, and the train is always short, which sucks if the train is pulling into the station just as you arrive. I don't take it anymore, but I did for awhile. The stations are gross too, which makes for an unpleasant wait. Maybe it will improve once all the construction in Greepoint/Williamsburg comes to pass though.
The only line that I thought was worse was the J/Z. That seemed to follow a schedule something like, "runs by the light of the moon, on even days, during months that end in the number 30".

Re: How long is your commute....
If I didn't hit traffic, it would only be about 35 minutes...but I ALWAYS hit traffic (I go out to the Hamptons), so going to work is usually about 1 - 1 1/2 hours. Coming home is better - usually only about 40-45 minutes
