How long is SIDS a concern
My DH and I both know four people who have lost their babies to SIDS. 2 of them were recent losses so of course it's something we worry about. Is it only for the first year that it's a concern or longer?

Re: How long is SIDS a concern
I believe the threat reduces drastically after 1 year. I can't believe you know that many people that it has affected. That is so sad. SIDS is one of my biggest fears.

Re: How long is SIDS a concern
The chances decrease once the baby is old enough to turn itself over, so usually by about 4 months. It remains a concern until the are about a year.
Here's some info on it:

It usually drops around 1 year but still a concern until 18 months from what I read.
