How long did you wait before you left your baby with
grandma and went out with DH for a little while? My mom is visiting from CA for a couple of weeks and has offered to watch the baby if we want to go out for a little while. I could basically plan it around her naps so she would be sleeping for the most part but I still feel guilty. DD would be 2 weeks old at the time. Should I take mom up on her offer while she's here?

I would....my brother left my niece with my dad when she was 2 weeks old....this is the easy age to watch them.

Definitely, we left our little one at around 3 wks with grandma. Just let her know your routine and your DC will be just fine.

Definately take Grandma up on her offer. DH and I left DD with Grandma for about 2 hours when she was 2 weeks old. He took me to get my staples removed, and then we went out for lunch. It was a nice break.

Do it! My husband and I went out when my parents came to visit and it was like having a really nice break!!!
We saw a film and had a lovely curry!!!
Can't wait to do it again!

5 months for about 2 hours with MIL when she was visiting from NY. We went out for Valentine's day.
Then my mom started watching her for 3-4 hours at our house when I went back to work 2 days a week at about 7 months
9 months is when DH and I started going on dates

The second day he was home, because we had to go visit the other baby in the hospital. I saw go and have fun!

I"m in the minority! Caiden first stayed for a few hours with my parents when he was close to 2 yrs old! I'm soooo nervous about leaving him anyway. Well, mostly I miss him! 
He still hasn't spent the night anywhere but home and he's over 2.5 yrs old now!

I'll be returning to work part time after 2 weeks, so Luca will be with each of his grandmas two afternoons a week.

It should be fine. I think we left DD w/ MIL and FIL the second day I was home so that DH could drive me to BRU to get different bottles. I had a c-section and could not drive and I didn't want to take a 2-day old out to the store.
