How long did it take...
...from when you signed the contract to when you got a firm closing date? A couple days? 2 weeks? A month?

I took us about 2 weeks to find out the closing date and then from there, the date was about 6 weeks away.

We officially went to contract 6/3, established our closing date of 8/15 in the end of July. We had to wait for a survey to be done. The bank and everything else was ready about 4 weeks after we went to contract.

We signed our contract the end of Oct 02 and closed on Dec 20th. I guess it depends on the lawyer because we never actually got a "date" plus when he did give us a date, it changed anyhow. It was a pretty quick process. Good Luck to you.

WE went to contract in July 2000 and closed October 2nd, 2000. Almost 3 months!
Wow, its almost 5 years ago!
