How long before you worry about decrease in appetite?
It is now day 3 that Anthony is not taking healthy bottles. I give him 7 oz he takes 6, I give him 6, he takes 4 1/2. I know it is good manners to leave something on your plate, but this is nuts now. IDk if I can blame it on teething. His hands have been in his mouth like it is his mission, and he always trying to chew things of different texture, I don't see anything in his mouth.

Just b/c you don't see anything.... doesn't mean that it's not there. They may be working their way down.
He may possibly have an ear infection though.... That would def affect his drinking....
If you don't see/feel anything soon, I would def call the ped and see what they say. They may want you to bring him in for a sick visit.

Re: How long before you worry about decrease in appetite?
I'm not sure to be quite honest.... Kristina has never had one.
I know that ear pulling can be one, but it can also be a sign of teething....
I would just keep an eye/monitor his milk intake, and if you are still concerned w/i the next couple of days, call the ped, and see what they say.

ds is the same age and has also cut down on the bottles in the past few days... I am blaming the teething because he soaked through 4 bibs today in drool alone....

Ear tugging and loss of appetite are also signs of teething...
As long as his diapers look good and there is no fever or any really "alarming" signs, I would just ride it out. Maybe give him a cooled teething ring just prior to feeding him to see if that helps. DD is on table food and that's what we do with her when she's teething...seems to help the appetite.

Re: How long before you worry about decrease in appetite?
My son hasn't really been eating either today. He usually takes 6 - 7 oz. for a total of 30-40 oz and he only drank about 20 today. The dr. said as long as he has wet diapers 4-6 times a day its fine. He tugs on his ear too. I think he is just teething and has been teething for a while!

Re: How long before you worry about decrease in appetite?
For my own kids I would probably bring them if they were visibly sick, feverish, extra cranky or not sleeping. I would probably just ride it out as above poster said. However, I would keep an eye out for signs of dehydration though.
Of course if you feel there is something wrong, then there is no harm in putting a call in. The younger they are, the harder it is to tell.

He's probably fine but if it keeps up for another day or 2 I'd call the ped. Keep really good track of his intake today.

Sounds like teething to me. My son did the same thing. The ear tugging could be because of referred pain from the teeth.
