are they able to have visitors?

They will be in recovery for some time, but after that, then if she is up to it, then you can visit.

I was allowed to have visitors pretty soon after I got out of recovery

Probably right out of recovery, but I wouldn't have wanted visitors other than immediate family right away.

after my SIL had her c-section we were allowed in not too long after...but she was pretty out of it and in too much pain i think to appreciate our presence LOL

As soon as I was put into my own room I was allowed visitors. It was a few hours after I had my c-section.

I had visitors the moment I got out of recovery ( i was in recovery 1.5 hrs)

My DH was with me in recovery and they let my mom, MIL & FIL visit for a few minutes in recovery to see me and DS. After that they had to leave cause they wanted me to nurse. When they took DS to the nursery to clean him up, my DH and mom sat with me. I was in my room about a hour after being in recovery.
I am iN NJ so it may be different for me.
