How far in advance do you call edge park for breast pump?
Is it edge park? Maybe I have the name confused.
Do I call insurance first or them?
TIA!

Re: How far in advance do you call edge park for breast pump?
found this in the old post
I think you call your insurance first to see if its covered then you call edge park.
I know there was another thread going but I wanted to start a new one.
I called my insurance company to see if by chance they would provide any coverage on a breastpump. They told they would cover 90% of the cost. I called the medical suppliers they suggested and none of them were of any help. After calling them a second time they gave me the info for Edge Park...an out-of-state medical supplier who carry breast pumps and will ship for free.
Today I got the confirmation that I only had to pay 10% on a Medela Freestyle - this pump is $380 at BRU but I got it for a whopping $23.21!!
Once again the info for Edge Park is:
Tel: 1-866-528-0357 Edge Park
Definitely take the time to call and find out if you have any benefits no matter what your insurance!! They can place the order for you and they will call you once they have verified with your insurance telling you the remaining balance. They will NOT ship out the product to you until they get payment so it really doesn't hurt at all to try.
Good luck girls!!

I think I called around 13-14 weeks and got the pump a week later.

I never even thought of that! It would be awesome if I could get a pump from my insurance

I like getting a time line. I like to be prepared in my head for what I need to do. We just changed insurance. I am changing doctors. I am changing careers. I also remember I needed my breast pump immediately after having DS when I wasn't planning on giving a bottle til he was 6 weeks. I like to plan what I can.

If you aren't sure whether or not your insurance covers it I'd call them first. Other wise just call edge park, I called at 14 weeks and had it less than a week later. I have had 2 great experiences with edge park, but heard of some women on here getting hit with a bill after the fact so I wanted to leave plenty of time for a bill to show up (just in case) before I use it.
