I always just told the kids it was by MAGIC...
No need to scare the child by telling them that Easter Bunny comes through their window when they are sleeping...
Please know that this coming from someone who was PETRIFIED of that bunny as a child...

The way I handled it was to ask "How do you think he gets in?"
I am so grateful for having a video camera ready for that conversation. They come up with some great ideas.

Under the door, though the radiator, etc....yes, I believed it when my mom told me. 
ETA: "sneaked" in while bringing the groceries in the house, while getting the mail, going in the backyard.
