How does she do it?
So I'm on the computer and little Charlotte comes into the room. She's a bit too happy, licking her lips, wagging her tail. Tell tale signs that she got into something. She jumps onto my lap and I notice something green in her paw. Aha...I knew it. But what? Now, Charlotte likes gum. ALL kinds. Even nicotine gum! And it's not that she chews the gum...she just leaves puncture marks. So I go downstairs and look at my bag but it doesn't look disturbed. It's exactly where I left it. On the arm of a chair. But not totally HOW I left it. So I go into the tiny pocket and search for my new pack of stride gum. It's not there. But we're talking a TINY pocket that just holds a pack of gum. Still not there. I look around. No evidence. I continue to look and there it is. The torn up package. All gum is in tact despite teeth marks. but the package is destroyed.
Now she has the guilty eyes. she knows!!! But HOW on earth did she manage to get it out of my bag in the first place? She was so stealth about it! If I wasn't so onto her, I never would have suspected she was a thief!

I know it's crazy! Ali loves chapstick and once I had a 4pack of spa flavored chapsticks. They were in the front pocket of a back pack upstairs. I had opened the package just enough to get one out and put it on. She smelled it on my lips and then apparently went looking for it, found it, removed just the one and ate it. Left the package fully intact just as I had it and in my bag in the small pocket! They are surgeons!! She can also open mint containers and eat all the mints without damaging the containers haha....

Soooo resourcefull our furry babies, no?
Our boxer is totally guilty of stuff like that, yet our GSD hits the ground like he was the one who did it.

Re: How does she do it?
Great thing that she doesn't actually chew the gum, that could get messy! I think I heard that artificial sweeteners are dangerous for them also.
We have a stealthy little devil too. That's what I'm starting to call her, the yellow devil.
I put three empty water bottles in front of the counter at work and she was still able to get on the counter and take one - ONE - chocolate covered cherry out of a plastic tray that was on the top of microwave, shoved to the back wall, without disturbing anything else. And she opened the foil with her teeth, set it aside, and ate the chocolate covered cherry.
I heard nothing and only found out when I saw the overhead lights hit the gold foil on the floor.
