How do you verify whether things online are real or fake or altered or what? I mean like who confirms whether this crabzilla picture is a fake?

How do you verify whether things online....
A quick Google search can tell you everything. This was a hoax, just a fake picture. Sites like Viralnova are not legitimate news sources.

Yes but how do I prove that to people who send me these things thinking they are real. I know they aren't fake but I don't know sites to send back that prove it is false. like snopes does it for some things but are their other sites like snopes?
ETA: nevermind, now I was able to find that on snopes. I guess snopes does have it all!
