How do you store/organize your DVD collection?
Pictures would be helpful!
We have been storing our DVD collection in those vertical metal racks and it's getting on my nerves...I want them tucked away into the entertainment stand, but there's no room!
So, I'd like to go and buy another entertainment stand....but I fear having a large one that takes up so much space in the living room and obviously collecting dust!
What are alternatives? Any ideas?

we actually got rid of all the cases and put them in a large CD binder I think it hold like 100 CDs. We have one binder for kids movies and one for adult movies and keep it in the entertainment center. It takes up virtually no space

DH built this because I did not want anything on the floor that could tip over onto DS.
It is mulitple boxes hung on a wall.

We did this for both movies and music CDs. When my DD was younger she loved to pull them off the shelves. Then we'd reshelve and she did it again! It is so much easier with the binders. Also, we had so many CDs and DVDs that I really found them to be an eyesore.

I have them all in the cabinet under our tv along with the cable box.. I preferred to not have have them on display, I don't want to look at them everyday since I never watch them.

You can kinda see our shelves, we plan on getting high flagging bookcases that they will be stored in when we can afford new furniture.

We bought a couple of brown faux leather boxes with lids from BB&B a few years ago.
We got rid of the plastic cases (sold them in bunches on ebay), and put all the DVDs in white paper sleeves.
They are all labeled and ordered alphabetically. We used alphabetical dividers to separate them, like the kind you would buy for a box of index cards.

We have these from Best Buy
they can hold from 10 up to around 400 dvd's

Ikea has shelves that look like this in I think three colors. My GF got two of them. They come with 4 shelves, but you can buy more shelves.
Obviously not these built ins, but something that looks just like it in size and shape.

Thanks so much ladies...I hit up Target today and found a tv stand that I love and now I can put the DVD's in there and HIDE them!
I really hate that they're on display, so I'm going to either put them in boxes or just get rid of the cases and put them in a binder.

This is probably what I should do. I have been in need of a solution for years and I did this with about half of my CDs. It's time to do the rest!

i just did this too with almost all of my cd's and dvds. i am moving into a smaller space and needed something that could be small and not take up too much space.

Maybe I'm late on this one... but I just went through a massive project of throwing away all DVD/CD cases and storing the actual discs in huge wallets. It saves a TON of space and I know I won't miss the cases. It's hard to store them without it looking messy.
