how do you request the towns dead tree be removed
Its right in front of my property and I fear a good storm will tear it down. I'm w.babylon thanks

We had this done last year. It literally took them 10 phone calls over a period of 4 years to get it done. We live in teh town of islip. I don't remember what department but you should be able to call the town and they will direct you.

Call and send a letter. Make sure they are aware of the issue. if it does fall in a storm they will NOT pay for damage. I know from experience.....but if they had notice the tree was dead then they might pay. I argued with the TOB atty for weeks after a tree took out my fence (fence was less than 2 months old)

I had a few dead trees a couple of years ago. I called the town (smithtown) and they came the next day to examine the trees and removed the following day.
