how do you put your DC down for a nap?
Parker is almost 4 months and I still swaddle her. I wait until she starts getting cranky, then I give her the paci, and take her in her room. I swaddle her and put her down in the crib. I do the shhhhhhhhhh until she closes her eyes and then I leave the room. I was wondering how other people do it who don't swaddle. Is your DC wide awake when you put them down? Do they roll all over the crib? I want to stop swaddling but I'm scared that she won't stay asleep. She is wild with her hands.

we never swaddled, DD hated having her hands and legs in a burritto.
When she's sleepy, it's usually the same time every day. I put her in crib, give her paci, turn on her mobile, kiss her nite, and leave the room
She will play or fuss and fall asleep within 10-20 minutes.

Wenever swaddled here either. Both my kids hated it.
For naps, I am pretty much on the same schedule with them every day, provided we are home. I think that is key.
My DD, 7 months, takes her first nap 2 hours after she wakes and then an afternoon nap around 3 p.m. I change her diaper, lay her in her crib, turn on her mobile, give her a rattle or toy to play with and she usually falls asleep on her own.

Ryan is the same age as Parker. I give him his paci and rock him and he is usually out w/in 5 minutes. I know this is creating a habit but it works so well I am hesitant to stop! I wish I could put the mobile on and walk away but he gets stimulated by it and stays awake watching it when I know he is tired. Daycare swaddles him leaning in the bobby and sometimes I do that at home too which also works.
