How do you prevent moving in your sleep...
Before I was PG I was a exclusive SIDE sleeper... I could NOT ever sleep on my stomach or back EVER.
Now that I am PG and am SUPPOSED to sleep on my side I am having issues. When Im on my side parts of my body tend to "fall asleep" (pins and needles that sort of thing).
In response as I sleep I have been flipping onto my back. The problem is 1. I am not supposed to sleep on my back according to baby books 2. My back winds up killing me and Im sore all day.
This has been going on for a few weeks and is just getting worse. I tried propping up pillows, body pillow, having DH wake me up etc etc, but I keep flipping!!!!
Its bad enough I dream CONSTANTLY and wake up either from a dream or to pee every 2 hours. Now Im sore all day from the back sleeping. UGH!
PS... Of course there are way worse things to be pissy about but I figured maybe you guys could help think of a good strategy?!?!

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I have ended up on my back most nights throughout the pregnancy and now that's pretty much how I sleep. Have you tried pillows between your knees? I know that helps my hips be a little more comfy.

BTW:
I am totally not fixing all of the horrible grammar mistakes above because I am too lazy.
Hey---at least I am aware of it

Everything I have read says if you flip onto your back while you are sleeping its not a big deal - you will wake up - that is your body telling you to get off your back and onto your side. I am having the same issue with getting sore and achy from laying on one side. The snoogle seems to help keep me in position - also helps with back and hip pain, have you tried it?

I am not so much worried about hurting the baby.... I know he/she is probably just fine in there.
I just HATE sleeping on my back because I get all sore and feel like a pretzel!

I have a body pillow. I just CAN'T justify spending 50 bucks on a pillow that I may just toss aside after ten minutes like the body pillow I bought.

hmm... I get sore too and I am not sleeping on my back - do you think it could just be pregnancy aches and pains?
When I use the snoogle I don't turn over though.

Re: How do you prevent moving in your sleep...
Sleep however you are comfortable! I asked my dr about not sleepign on my back and she said as long as my BP was fine, not to worry and to sleep however I wanted. She said that a position would become uncomfortable if I shouldnt sleep that way. I slept on my back until about 30+ weeks. Then I barely slept but when I did it was on my sides, switching often due to hip discomfort amonst other things!
ETA: if your back hurts, my chiro suggested, putting a pillow under my knees (kinda just below your butt), it helps straighten your spine, and if you are on your side put one between your knees.

Re: How do you prevent moving in your sleep...
I was told I could sleep on my back until 24 weeks. For now that's the ONLY way I can sleep.

Re: How do you prevent moving in your sleep...
I lay with a huge body pillow on one side that I curl up with and on the other side I put a rolled up blanket. It keeps me from moving in my sleep.
