How do you know when to increase the amount of formula?
Right now the twins are eating 4 ounces every 3 hours. They are 6 weeks old. James seems to want more to eat but I don't want to give it to him and then he spits it up! I hate when they spit up because they get so upset then!
So, how do you know when it is time to increase the amount of formula intake? TIA

There are guidelines on the similac website that I have been using as a guide to help. I increased the amount when I felt she wasnt being satisfied.

My dr. said to increase by .5 of an ounce when they seem to want more..they'll let you know if its too much by spitting up/not taking it.

We feed on demand. When 2 oz didn't seem to satisfy her, we upped to 4 oz. Now, it seems she wants more in her morning feedings, so we upped it to 6 oz. She wants less in her evening feedings so she gets 3 oz then.
