How do you know when to get the next level bottle nipples?

DD is 6 months and using level 2 nipples (Similac bottles). Lately the nipple has been collapsing in on itself when she first starts drinking. I have to take the bottle away for a few seconds to let the nipple pop back up. Dd is not a fan of that! Is that a sign shes ready for level 3 or does it mean I should go back to using level 1? Or is it just something that happens with Similac bottles?

I usually changed every 3 months - I checked for wear/see if DS bit it too much.

We changed from 1-2 when it was taking the boys forever to finish their bottles (around 3 months). I tried to change to level 3 around 6 mos and DS 1 wanted no part of them (the flow is really fast) so I never bothered with DS 2.

When it was taking forever for her to drink lol. She is 7 months and on level 3. At first it's a big change, but after a few bottles she got the hang of it no problem.

we never stopped using size 2. they worked great for DD.

That's a sign that your baby is sucking so hard to get the milk faster. I'd try the level 3. DD was on that level by 3-4 months!
