How do you know when the baby drops?
I was totally able to breath last night when I was lying down and I was feeling so much more movement than usual in the lower half of my belly. I think I see a slight lowering in my belly position, but can't really tell. It all looks the same to me.
How did you know when the baby drops into position? Also, how long before you go into labor does this generally happen?
I am 36 weeks tomorrow.

For me it happened in 2 stages. First I was able to breathe and I did not feel like my boobs were being pushed into my chin.
Then about 2 or 3 days later, I felt like the baby was going to fall out I woke up with crazy pressure in my crotch & I could feel his head I swear. It was crazy!

It happened for me at about 32 weeks. All of a sudden I could breathe and when I looked at my tummy it visibly was just so much lower than before. Had a sono soon after and they confirmed............baby dropped very low into my pelvis.

I dropped around the time of my shower (that's when everyone noticed)...I think it was week 36 but labor came right around the EDD.

Put your hand under your chest and see how many fingers lay flat without touching your belly. When you can fit your whole hand you've dropped.
That's what my MIL told me and she was right. It went from one finger to two and so on and when I went to the hospital I could fit my hold hand there.

How long after you fully dropped did you go into labor?
a week. But I was in "soft labor" for 3 days, then I was in hard labor for about an hour before my c-section.
