I'm planning on a csection - it isn't my choice but I'm not big on VBAC and I'm not a candidate so I have to have a section.

i'm not sure. i'd like to say i would do it with no meds., but then why torture myself i don't have to? so i would say i would probably take some sort of meds. if necessary. the only thing i know i don't want is a C-section unless it's medically necessary for me or the baby. i think a lot of people don't realize what a serious surgery a c-section is. they cut into your uterus and take out your intestines... it's a big deal and i only want that if absolutely necessary. also i hear recovery sucks after a C.

I've seen many videos with c-sections and have never seen them taking out intestines. I'm pretty sure as your uterus grows, your intestines are either behind the uterus or they are pushed up above your uterus like everything else.
The only way I can see them taking out your intestines is if they are inside your uterus, which we all know they are not.

they don't usually take out your intestines but I have first hand "Scrubbed in" to over 10 c-sections and they do take your uterus OUT of your body to check it for ters and to sew it.... The MD I was working with when I was in schoold found it necessary for me to partake in the pleasant experience and I've held a womans uterus in my hands outside of her body........

okay... i knew they took SOMETHING out!  i did think it was the intestines though because I thought they were in front of the uterus...guess not! I didn't realize they actually took the uterus out though... WOW!

from a BTDT mom, my recovery was a breeze. not all c-section recoveries are bad....
