How do you handle at work?

Just curious as to what you say to your boss?

I ended up using a sick day for my first IUI since i didn't know what to expect but this time i know i can go to work but i'll be late. I'm just nervous because there's only so much "i have a dr apt" i can use. I'm starting to think that he might think something is up.

I had to spill the beans. Definitely not fun. Had a very ackward conversation w/ my boss about whether or not I O on my own, etc...

I am actually glad I told her though bc I don't like lying about why I am out.

I told them. My boss just had an IUI with injectibles and used the same RE that I am.

It makes it so much easier for me to leave when I need to because she knows what I have to go through.

I told my supervisors everything. I also made it my business to be as efficient and responsible as possible. Bosses have to realize that life happens outside of the workplace.

I think about how i would have handled this if I was still working. I think I might tell them that I need to have some extensive dental work done or something along those lines.

Re: How do you handle at work?

I've only been at my job for 6 months so i'm so paranoid that if i tell him, i might get myself in trouble.

Maybe i'm just being silly?

I think if my boss weren't male, i might not feel as uncomfortable saying anything.

I decided to basically take this route. I asked my boss if i could just work from home for a few days. He's out today so i'm hoping he'll respond (fingers crossed).

I told my boss from the very beginning and she's been very uunderstanding about everything.

She even offered to let me go home early yesterday to wait for my beta results.

I just started teaching at a new school in September and I am also scared of saying something... Im hoping to only use two days for transfer and retrieval though and with that my dpctor said he would write a note with just his name on the top (not the big LI- IVF header) saying I went in for a procedure....

Re: How do you handle at work?

I did end up working from home the last few days after all.

I know my boss was asking questions to my co-workers and now i feel even guiltier. I feel like i should tell him.

When I planned IVF: I told my boss.

I can't really take sick days & have to be in really early. There was just no way.

He went through IF issues a long time ago. It made us a lot closer.

Re: How do you handle at work?

My bosses were aware of what we were doing and were extremely accomodating. I was very lucky (and still am).

Re: How do you handle at work?

Ok so i told him as soon as i came in this morning.

I felt sooooo guilty for lying to him in the first place and it was stressing me out which i know is not good! I didn't give him the full details of what is going on but I also wanted to make him aware that it could happen again (especially if i need to go through IVF).

He seemed to be understanding and said it was between the two of us.
