Re: How do you get rid of wasps??
Are you sure they are wasps?
We had both wasps and yellow jackets in our house this summer.
Wasps make small nests in many different areas and their nests are rather small, like little golf balls.
Yellow jackets tend to swarm - and they are very fiercely protective of their area, so if you see many just HOVERING near the light, it will tend to be yellow jackets.
Wasps don't hover - and I learned all this, among many other facts as the exterminators came to take care of the nests.
OH, and if you spray them - do it at dusk when all of them are in the nest, so you kill them and the nest!

Re: How do you get rid of wasps??
BTW, yellow jackets get REALLY annoyed if you run the lawnmower over their underground nest!
As long as most of the nest is exposed or visible, the spray should work. We had to call someone in a few years in a row, because at our house, they love to nest underground. There's no way I'm digging out an active, live nest.... I'm crazy, but not stupid.

It doesn't matter the time with them - they are very active - we had them btw our roof and BR wall and we could here them buzzing all night until we had the exterminator come to take care of them.
Bets bet, Kathleen, spray them with a powerful wasp/yellow jacket spray - wear gloves when doing it, and make sure you're not wearing loose clothing.
How big is the nest?

I couldn't even see the damn nest...didn't want to get too close and it was dark...it's in a light in the back of the apartment
