How do you clean your menorah?

We have an old brass one and I was taught to soften the bottom to keep the candle in place. So after awhile, I find it hard to stick the candles in. Do you clean yours nightly or do you have tips?

The menorah we have now has been a breeze, because the candles we've been using melt down and we can lift the wick and what's left of the wax clean out once they've gone out.

When I was a kid, we used to clean the menorah every day by scratching out the wax with a knife.

I dig the wax out with a knife at the end of the holiday or if I need to make room in a specific candleholder.

Has anyone ever put it in the freezer, it will make it much easier to remove the wax.

if you run it under hot water the wax will either melt or pop right out.

Oh please - mine still has wax from years ago still crusted on it!!!

The wax from last year always reminds me of happy times in the past!
