How do you choose a real estate broker to work for?

How do you choose a real estate broker to work for?

What questions would you ask?

What are the commission rates? What else? I am clueless and have 3 different real estate offices who want to meet and I would like to walk in prepared with my own questions.

Any input is appreciated. Thank you!!!!

Re: How do you choose a real estate broker to work for?

Comission rate

Fees that apply- franchise fee, insurace, copy fees etc

(they should be able to provide you with a chart)

What they offer in terms of advertising

Who pays for the ads

but for your first office- training, leads, broker support and some type of mentor would be more important that this at first

your comission rate hardly matters if you don't sell anything!

Coach offered me 1200 Christie's great estates magazines....that's great and all but hardly a motivation factor - esp considering 95% of my buyers are looking at $500K and under

Re: How do you choose a real estate broker to work for?

you should really be interviewing them more then they are you

it's not like you get a salary- it should be what can the office do to help you grow/build your business- the broker only makes money when you do

I get offers all the time- I spent 6 weeks thinking about coming to my current office and I am very happy with the choice I made

a few people thought I was nuts to turn down Coach (first to the office manager- then to the owner of the company) but I just didn't feel it was the right fit for me at this time
