How do you change your last name? What do you do first?
I didn't care about not sharing the same last name as DH. However, I want to have the same last name as DS.
What are the first steps?
I'm assuming Social Security first? Then passport and driver's license? Seems like so much work!

Yeah... bring your marriage license to the SS office near you and then go to the DMV to have that changed. I didn't get my passport changed yet, but I have to do that.

its really not so bad, i just changed my last name. I changed my drivers license and ss card. u just have to bring ur marriage license, and thats it.

That really doesn't sound bad at all!
How about credit cards, bank accounts, etc?

i did ss then dmv... after that was all done i produced a mass letter and just sent it to all my various accounts to have it changed

That really doesn't sound bad at all!
How about credit cards, bank accounts, etc?
You have to call them and have them changed. Don't forget checks too. It's not bad at all. I remember for some cards like GAP, NY & Co and Victoria's Sectret you call for one and have them all changed in one phone call
