How do you agree

DH and I each made a list then we exchanged lists and were allowed to cross off the names we did not like- We were left with one boy's name and two girl's name--Then I realized that there was a name that I loved that DH was on the fence about--when we found out the gender (It's a girl!) I explained why I loved the name and he was all for it especially when paired with the girl's name he preferred from our list as the middle name.

How do you agree

Crashing - DH and I have come up with names LOOOOONG before we were even married. Girl - a combo of the gma he was close with and my gma , boy - this was harder, but we found a name that we like that has a hint of his father's name (his father passed away 14 years ago this January).

I picked ds first name and my dh picked his middle name. I told him ds got his last name so it was fair that I got to pick the first name. After seeing how much pain I was in during l&d, dh never argued. Iol

I sort of love the idea of using this excuse! You are right...baby does get his last name...why shouldn't I choose the first? Chat Icon

When you find out let me know. Chat Icon DH and I are going through this now. I thought we had one name done but now he hates the middle name. Looking for a second name but it has to start with a D. Not easy!! Either the name has been used with family or friends or I hate it. Or it reminds me negatively of Someone I once knew. Thank god we still have time! This poor little girl might be born with a name like Baby B lol

We're in the same boat! With our first DS it was fairly easy since I LOVED the name I picked even before getting pregnant so convincing him wasn't too hard. This time around we just can't agree on anything and I don't strongly like any names... I'm pretty set on a girl's name but since I'm convinced it's a boy that doesn't really help much... The only boy name we agree on has a negative connotation for me with someone I know so still at a loss there.

I am SO THROWING this reasoning on the table tonight Chat Icon

With DS, it was DH's name choice we went with.

This is our last child I feel like my choice should be a bit stronger and considered more than his. Especially, since I am doing all the work, and I have to push this kid out Chat Icon

He doesn't agree...Chat Icon Chat Icon

We are so on opposite sides with name choices. He keeps picking such common 'me too!' names. I don't want DD to be one of 6 in her class or oines that I am just don't love.

I have been referring to DD with a certain name in my head for awhile now. No matter what names I try and consider, I keep going back to the one I know her as in my head.

DH is not on board with it anymore...he liked it for awhile and now is not a fan! Chat Icon

How do you agree

Picking a name was very difficult. We waited until we found out the gender because I couldn't imagine trying to agree on two names.

We each had a list of names and we created an NCAA Bracket added the names to each side. Every couple of days we would cross off a name from the other person's list and move the remaining names to the empty brackets until we got down to two names. There were a few common names on each of the lists.

We had zero girl names decided but didn't matter b/c we had DS... but we did argue over his name. DH wanted DS to be named after him, I wanted another name that was a variation of his name, since there were too many family members with the same name already and I wanted DS to have his own name. DH finally changed his mind when we ran into issues with refinancing and car insurance getting mixed up with FIL (who has the same name as DH).

Re: How do you agree

we actually came up with a boy name relatively easy. DH and I agreed on one name, but we differed with its pronunciation. i liked another name too, so i suggested putting the other name as the middle. the two go well together. DH wasnt loving the combo at first, but the more he thought about it, he likes it.

as for girls...we differ a bit here. there are so many nice names, but we have issues with some (negative connotations, spelling, etc.). right now we are going back and forth between two. but who knows if something else will pop up.

it will be easier if this Chat Icon is a boy! LOL

This is what I did for my DS. I told DH that if he gets the last name, that I get the first name. Seems fair to me! Chat Icon
