How do we feel about Chris Brown
His CD is coming out in a few more weeks and he was on Wendy Williams today promoting his new music video.. Do you think people will run out and buy it or do you think it's going to be a bomb...

I think it will bomb. Isn't Rihanna's new album dropping the same day? So her interview with Diane Sawyer was well planned to get publicity...

I think that a lot of parents who would have previously paid for one of his CD's for their kids won't be rushing out to get his new one. He will not be breaking records with this new album, I'd say.

As a parent I won't allow my daughter to see him in concert and she begged me. I don't think the teens understand the impact of what he did to Rihanna.

Re: How do we feel about Chris Brown
I would not support his music.
I work in a middle school and the kids still love him the things they say about Rhianna hitting him first or whatever are so disturbing
I hope parents don't buy it for their kids, but kids still want to listen to him from what I hear...

OK nobody crucify me or accuse me of supporting someone who gets physically abusive in a relationship because I'm just asking since I only know the basic story (the very basic story) but did she hit him first?? I don't condone anything but doesn't it go both ways?

I don't know the whole story either- but I think kids have a very skewed view on what happened. I actually had a few girls in my class last year say to me, "Oh, Ms. D., she asked for it." and "She made it up- he didn't hit her." Nothing I could say could otherwise convince them.
I don't think it's ok for a woman to hit an man either but it's usually not a level playing field with regards to strength, KWIM?

i still like his music and if i like the new songs, i will go and buy it. i dont in any way support what he did but i like him as an artist. there are a lot of music artists and actors that have killed, done worse, they still have fans.

I think SHE says she didnt hit him...but we dont know the whole story.
I dont condone her hitting, but agree with PP about the difference in strength and also, no hitting is accepatable but he beat the ish out her ...he didnt slap her, he brutally beat her.

i think these two young kids had too much too fast. Fame can skew reality. ie they were in a Lamborghini that night. I hope Chris learns from this and becomes a better man for the future as he continues to grow up.

Re: How do we feel about Chris Brown
i am treating his issue as I would someone who had a drinking/drug problem. I am willing to give him a second chance if he is getting help. I really liked his music and I was shocked to hear what he did. But like I said, if he is seeking help, I would give him another chance.

Re: How do we feel about Chris Brown
Thw whole truth isnt out there so I will definitely ge this album when it comes out. I feel bad for both of them. The live their lives so publicly. Nutshell is he took it too far. She definitely has hit him in the past but nothing like he did to her.

Re: How do we feel about Chris Brown
I don't fully understand the mentality of "we don't know the whole story", etc....
She is tiny and if she DID hit him or get violent in any way, he could easily have defended himself. And then he could have LEFT HER for being abusive.
He almost killed her, and my understanding is that he was so angry that he very well could have.
Yes, it is a two way street, and its wrong whether its a man or a woman who is abusive, but the fact is, it IS different when it comes to the level of violence and who usually ends up dead.
Regardless, the relationship should have ended long before it did.
And I'm not crazy about his music so I'm not going to go out and buy his album, although I might have if this fiasco hadn't happened.

I saw the pics of her face afterwards. That alone would make me never support him or his music EVER.

Re: How do we feel about Chris Brown
Yes, we don't know the whole story but we saw HER face and HIS face. Who is the one that looked like a battered woman?
I am sorry but this man has severe anger issues.
It takes a special kind of man to even think of laying his hands like this on a woman. Someone with anger issues, rage, disrespect for women.
I am glad it went to the cops. There was no telling where he was heading on a pattern against women.
Men don't just hit one woman one day. They keep doing it. And I am glad he got stopped in his track.
And no, I will not "promote" him. I am not there yet.

Dont get me wrong I totally understand and I think its justified that he gets punished because it was PROVEN abuse. He beat her badly. For me a real man would have walked away.
They both have anger issues, she hits him and vice versa but he did her more damage obviously. It just bothers me that she refused to acknowledge that she laid hands on him...maybe not this specific incident but she has in the past and he walked away. Something snapped in him and i hope it never happens again.
I love her message for young girls but one thing I added for my DD is dont hit men either even a slap because you never know whats going to happen.
