How do u quantify sleep/feeding?

What i mean is, if my son wakes up at 12 and by the time i am done changing and feeding him and put him back to bed, its 12:30 and then he gets up at 4:00, do i count the sleep from 12:30-4 (so 3 1/2 hours sleep) and the feeding from 12-4 (so 4 hours between feedings?)
Thanks!

I count the hours from the start of one feeding to the start of the next feeding.
And I count the hours that they were actually sleeping for the sleep.

You are supposed to count from the beginning of the feeding. So, say you feed him at 3pm and it takes him 30 minutes to eat, he will probably need to eat again at 6pm or so.

As for sleeping, I count from when he goes down to when he wakes up.
