How do I teach her...

to roll from back to belly???

She is 5 months old already and there are lots of babies much younger than her that can do this. She can sit up on her own, and rolls from belly to back, but not the other way. It is so frustrating because she sleeps on her belly but rolls over during the night and starts crying. I have to constantly run in to roll her over!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Is there something I can do to help her? She doesn't even try or seem interested in learning.

ETA: I often lay on the floor with her to play and try to get her to roll by showing her a toy and then moving it to the side hoping she will follow it. She follows it with her head and reaches for it, but never tries to roll to get it.

Any ideas???

Sounds like you are doing everything you can. Don't worry, she'll figure it out!!

Ditto! One day she just do it and you won't even realize it.

Re: How do I teach her...

I had a baby play book that gave you ideas for each month and one suggestion that they had was to put the baby on a towel and pick up the side of the towel a little bit to encourage them to roll over.

I have to say though that I never did it. I didn't want to push her too much. I would sit on the floor with her and take her favorite toy and try to encourage her to roll towards it ...but ultimately she just did it when she was ready.

Remember that every baby develops differently and yours will do it when they are ready!

I am in the same boat Cathy and Luka is 5.5 months old. He seems so comfortable on his back but he does sleep on his back and side. I guess when they are ready they will do it. The waiting just stinks.
