How do I talk my kid into wearing his $50 costume???
At 16 months Sean is hilariously independent - He knows what he wants and what he doesn't and has no problem telling you.
So, I bought him that to die for adorable furry blue monster costume (someone posted their TOO cute daughter in it the other day) -
Well, he LOVES the 'Mosta" (translation: Monster) and tells me where his eyes and ears (horns) are etc - but when I ask him if he wants to wear it he shakes his head and refuses telling me 'no no Mommy' I put it on him, he takes it off ...........
any suggestions? I think he's too young to understand a bribe !!

I told DD she had to wear the costume to get candy.
If he doesn't know what candy is-give him some and tell him if he wants more, he has to put the costume on.
Sure, maybe there are some isues with this plan, but candy 1 day of the year shouldn't scar him

I say just keep trying it on him and hopefully he'll like it by Halloween...but I agree with CrankyPants, you've got to be able to bribe him with something A book, bath toys, crackers, etc...
