How do I know if I have allergies or a cold?
My throat is KILLING me and I have swollen glands. I'm sneezing a little bit and I feel so woosy.  Should I get some Claritin or make a doc appointment? I've never had allergies in my life!

I feel the exact same way!!!
Yesterday, I took a Claritin - and NOTHING....so it's a cold for me.

im no doc, but i could always tell if i had a cold if my glands are swollen. that shouldnt be allergies.

If you blow your nose, is is clear or greenish/ yellowish mucus?
Clear usually indicates that it is allergies

It could still be allergies! I took Claritin and it didnt work for me. But when I went to the Dr. he said it was allergies, and gave me a nasal spray.

REALLY??? I did not know this. All this time I assumed it was allergies cuz I have had that in the past. But with all the green gunk coming out of me it must be a bad azz cold!

You can have swollen glands with allergies I have them all the time. Claritin or other allergy meds often take a few days to really kick in so if they aren't working in about 3 days you might have a cold. BTW yellow or green mucus usually is a sign of an infection (this is from my ENT).
