Nassau County License look-up
Suffolk County License look-up
I only know these from Nassau and Suffolk...

I found that I got better results entering the license number. If there are multiple phone numbers you have to have the match to the one that was used for the license application to get a match.

call and check with consumer affairs...we are going thru a nightmare right now with a contractor we hired to do masonry work. Turns out he had 15 complaints against him and had lost his license,
