Re: How did your babies react after immunizations?

Christopher always seemed to be more irritable than usual after his shots. His worst so far was his chicken pox one that he got at his 12-month check-up. Two weeks afterwards, he got a fever and actually got a whole bunch of pox on his face. The doctor said that happens sometimes, but it wasn't fun. Chat Icon Chat Icon

My daughter is 15 months old and she had more of a reaction when she was younger. She usually cried and was fussy the rest of the day. Some shots caused her to not eat as much. One of them she ran a fever with.

Ella got 2 shots today - she's been sleeping more, eating less, and is a little fussier when awake.

She was fine immediately after - it seems they didn't start affecting her until this evening.

When Katie had her last shots she cried, a lot. She wasn't herself for several days, didn't eat well, slept more and was generally more fussy than usual.

If you worried or think something is abnormal, I'd call your ped. A slight fever can be normal too but my ped told me anything over 102, I should call.

Logan handles them pretty well. My ped's nurse who administers the shots always tells me which shots will make him more irritible. I *think* the DTAP and IPV shots do.

Yuppers!
That's what Hannah had today.
We had the Hep B given during her 1 month and she did not have any reaction where many experience flu like symptoms.

Thanks everyone......and thanks for dealin' w/ a daddyChat Icon

We have only given her one shot at a time and so far so good. No reaction, not even extra sleep..boo on that one.
Hope Hannah is back to herself really soon.

TOTALLY normal for a few days... Alex would always get super cranky, restless but sleepy, and would refuse to eat right after her shots. FYI, for the next time, try to give her some tylenol before the immunizations... it may help Chat Icon

DS was very sleepy but the doctor told me he would be. She also wanted me to give him Tylenol every 4 hours for 24 hrs. and I did just that so that might have been why he was a little sleepy. Other than that he had no reactions. He did cry but I have heard him cry worse driving home from some where.

My DD had these 2 shots 2 weeks ago. My ped said that she should not have any type of reaction to them. But I can tell you she did have a *very mild* fever that night. Other than that, she was normal.

Re: How did your babies react after immunizations?

DD got 4 shots for her 2 month checkup. She was very tired, and slept alot, she also ran a 99 degree temp for a couple days. Our Ped said not to wake her up, she needs the sleep and will make up for the feedings she slept through and she didChat Icon

She wasn't herself for about 4-5 days.

Hope Hannah feels better soon! Those shots are brutal, more to parents i thinkChat Icon
