Re: How did you tell your families?

We told at the 9w4d mark, we couldn't keep it in any longer. I posted this earlier, but we put this poem in a baby frame for both grandparents.

I do not have a face to see
or put inside a frame
I do not have soft cheeks to kiss
I don't yet have a name.
You can't yet hold my tiny hands
nor whisper in my ear.
It's still too soon to sing a song,
or cuddle me so near.
But all will change come April,
that’s when they say I'm due.
I'm your new grandson or granddaughter;
I can't wait ‘til I meet you.
All I ask between now and then
is your patience while I grow.
I promise I'll be worth the wait
because of all the love we'll know.
So what I have to give you now,
is a wish to you from me.
I cannot wait to be a part
of this wonderful family.

Love, Baby S#######

Thank you that's great! I was thinking of putting the first sonogram pic into a "brag" book.

My DH thought of this, we tell our parents look waht DH bought me and I'll pull out baby booties --- but my SIL did the bootie thing, I don't to steal her idea.

I gave my parents a frame that said Grandma and Grandpa's little ray of sunshine. I put my sonogram pic in it.

Re: How did you tell your families?

We told parents after I had to go to the hospital for early bleeding. It was around the 8 week mark. They did not know I went to the hospital, but when the Dr gave me the OK that the bleeding was not anything serious we decided it was time to tell. I think it was at 9 weeks. I did not tell my siblings until 2 weeks later, and the rest of the family 3 weeks later at Thanksgiving.

We happened to get our wedding albums that same week, so we put a sonogram picture as the last picture in each of the parent albums. For my sister & brother, we brought a cake over (we do this frequently when we meet for coffee) and engraved it "Congratulations Aunt XXXX and Uncle XXX. The rest of the family my MIL brought her "new grandma's brag book" and it had the sono pics in it as well.

Re: How did you tell your families?

My mom knew that I was pg from the beginning because we had ivf and she was there every step of the way. We told my dad by putting a gift bag together. In the bag, we put a picture of the latest sonogram, a grandparents photo album and a cute litle instruction book for grandparents. Every one else found out from my dad by looking at his face.

Re: How did you tell your families?

Well, I got my BFP on Grandparent's Day. My grandma lives at Sunrise Assisted Living & they had a bbq that day, so I told my mom, sister & grandma then. I pretty much just said I have a present for you and whipped out the test in a sandwich baggie lol. My sister and I were TTC together so I had to tell her right away!
How I told my dad was DH's idea - the two of them both play World of Warcraft Chat Icon so DH created a new character named Baby On Board. Then we stopped by and said Oh, you have to see this new character, it's so cool. My dad didn't even get it at first - my stepmom did and looked at me like -Chat Icon Chat Icon . My dad cried! Chat Icon And then he created a new character of his own - Gramps To Be!
We're going over to tell his parents tonight. We always drink wine there, so I'm thinking I'll just say no thanks, I can't drink wine for 9 months or so, and see if they catch on lol!

I'm only 5 weeks, so we're only telling parents and siblings for now.

Re: How did you tell your families?

DH & I told the grandmas (there are no grandpas) on Mother's Day. We got them a frame that said "Grandma's Little Star" and put a sono picture in each one.

His mother thought I only meant my mother couldn't tell people, Chat Icon Chat Icon so she told DH's sisters.

My siblings found out a week later at my brother's surprise b-day party. The card I got him was Happy B-day to my favorite uncle and I signed it "Hugs & Kisses Baby P (our last name)" It took him a few minutes to put it together, but once he did he started shouting at the top of his lungs thereby informing the rest of the family! Re: How did you tell your families?

With DS first we told my mom since my dad was away. I got a small carvel cake and had Congratulations Nonna on it. It took a minute to sink in.
With my inlaws we decided to go their durning the week and surprise them. So we bought another carvel cake and had written on it" congrats baba and dede (grandma and grandpa) make room for one more at the table"
Then for dad I had a shirt made up. He has his own company and on the back shirt their was a cartoon version of a tug boat (he works on tug's and barges) with the name of the company and then on the front where the name goes it said Baby Sxxxxxxxx. I put it in a box and wraped it. So when my mom and brother picked him up from the airport they brought him back to our house for dinner. After dinner and dessert I told him I was browsing the internet and came across something I thought would be nice for his office. I folded it backwards so he saw the back first. Then he saw the front and his first words were "oh f--k". He was in complete shock especially since he was telling people he was to young to be a grandpa Chat Icon .
For DD I found out Nov. 1 and our birthdays are the Nov. 4&7th so we told them after we had cake.
