How did you prepare before the 3 hour glucose test?

I am taking the 3 hour in the morning. Do I watch what I eat today? At what time should I stop eating if I start the test at 730am? I read I shouldn't drive home from the test? Any other pointers?

There's really no pointers.
You just stop eating the night before. The dr office should tell you a time. I'd guess it's somewhere around 10/11pm.

I never heard about not driving home.

I would watch what I eat the prior day. However, you can't "trick" the test... either you have GD or you don't have it. Eating healthier won't make you pass the test if you do have GD. Whatever you eat the day before should be out of your blood by the next day anyway; but don't have a super sugary snack before bed.

I was told to fast 12 hours before the appointment. But,to keeping drink lot's of water I was also told if I had it, I had it, and it would show regardless of what I did or didn't eat the day before.

I don't think there's any real way to prepare for the test, it just measures how your body processes the drink.

Just make sure to follow your doctor's directions about when to stop eating/drinking the night before. (I think I was told nothing after midnight).

the day before the 3 hour i reduced my sugar intake and increased my water intake. i did fast for 12 hours before since that's what they told me to do. that's really all that i did. i never heard that you cant drive home but my DH was with me so it wasnt an issue.
