how common is a ........?
neg hpt test and a pos beta? if i test neg hpt tues morning should i even bother with going for the beta? ty

You should get your blood test.
Sometimes those tests are not reliable and it may not detect low levels of HCG in your urine.
The blood test is the most reliable and conclusive.

Def go if u dont get af. It happened to me last cycle. It was a chemical pg. I was going to wait it out instead of going for the beta, but at 16dpo with no af and lots of bfn dr. B said to get the beta. Turns out it was 5. Only got an hpt bfp about ten hours later. After that all hpts were bfn again and beta went to 1 and af arrived.

yes, it is possible to get a neg on a HPT and still a positive with beta. GOod luck!

When ever I tested neg on the HPT I just waited for my period.. I never went in for the beta..

Ditto. I'd always get my period 16 days after ovulation. Had to explain this to RE office. I'd have taken about 4 neg betas if I didn't just wait 2 more days.

One of the other boards I"m on we had two people going for beta on the same day. Both kept testing neg even that morning. Ended up one was pos and one was neg. She had her baby 2 months ago. And her beta wasn't even a low number to start. It was very weird but it happens.
