How close to your due date would you have your dc bday party?

Hi! I am starting to think about my ds's first bday party this summer. I am also pg with #2 which could interfere with the party. Is three weeks prior to your due date safe? Would you plan it more than 3 weeks or less from your due date?

I think 3 or 4 weeks would be ok. Depends on how big the party is. I has DS's 2nd bday party 5 weeks close to my DD and hosted a big Father's Day 2 weeks b4 my DD.
Was it easy? NOT AT ALL
At DS's 2nd bday party I couldn't walk the next day. LOL
We have a 3 tier deck and I was going up and down all day bringing out food, taking pics, socializing, etc.

If you can get a lot of help then I think you're ok. My DH, mom, MIL and the rest of the family were huge help
Take it easy, make sure to sit and rest, and everyone should know you're not going to be Martha Stewart 9 mons pregnant.
Have it catered and do what's easiest.

Personally, I would plan it for more than 3 weeks because my DD arrived unexpectedly nearly 3 weeks early. You never know.

I had DS#2's birthday party 3 weeks from my due date. DS#2 was born 2 weeks later, 1 week earlier than the due date.

I remember trying to decide if I should have the birthday party before or after the baby was born. So glad I did it before. We had it at a place and had everything delivered. It was so easy. We just showed up with favors.

Thanks everyone! I am leaning towards 3 weeks but just worried because I know having the baby that early is a possibility. We are having a BBQ and plan on hero and salads do its easy for us!
