How can I help? Is there anything I can do?

Hello ladies! Let me start by saying that I truly hope each and every one of you has your prayers answered in your journey to have a baby!

I have a question for you and I apologize for crashing. My SIL had a miscarraige at 10 weeks back in August. My parents were just down visiting them (they live in Atlanta) and my mom said that SIL is completely consumed by the miscarraige and her desire to get pregnant again. (to the point where my mom asked my brother if he thought she was suffering from depression)

I am just not sure if there is anything I can do to reach out to her and support her or help at all. I want to say the right things and help her if I can and thought if you had any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

God, that is a tough question because everyone is so different. Without knowing her, it's hard.

I guess I would start by asking her questions about how she is feeling, to see if she wants to talk about it.

What I wouldn't do is tell her to relax. Don't say it wasn't meant to be and don't tell her that when she stops trying it will happen again. Those are the things that hurt me the most. Just be there. Do something fun. Take her somewhere new. Tell her about this web site. Be patient, it is such a difficult thing to deal with.

I think it is so nice of you to ask. My family was a wonderful support for me. It is so important. I wish her all the best!

I think it's wonderful that you're trying to figure out ways to help her through this time- it's so difficult.

Her reaction is very normal- I think being depressed and consumed by TTC once again is the way most women feel. It's not unusual, it's such a sad thing to go through. Just be there for her.
