Housecleaning while pg

I seriously slacked off during the 1st trimester. Now I'm 15 weeks and still don't have the same energy to keep up with it all as I did before. Not that I ever enjoyed it, but now I need breaks and every little tug and pull freaks me out.

How is everyone else doing it? I wish DH would pitch in more, but he's got his hands full with "outside" work - lawn, weeding, taking siding off the garage. I'd love to hire a cleaning lady, but it's not in our budget.

Housecleaning has taken a serious vacation in my house! I do what I can to keep the floors swept and the kitchen and bathrooms clean....but not nearly as clean as I would normally keep things.
During the 1st trimester, I was too exhausted all day long to even care! During the 2nd trimester, I tried a couple of times to do a whole house cleaning at once, and paid the price for it afterwards....with body aches and pains.
You do what you can - and whatever doesn't get done doesn't! A little dust won't hurt you

I can relate. I now give my 15 month old the swiffer and let him go to town on my floors. God I can't wait until he can use the real vacuum.

I heart you! I feel better reading this. So far today I've done the bathroom and the kitchen, swept and mopped the floors, and vacuumed. I think I'll clean the fridge and call it a day.

housecleaning has definitely taken a back seat over here!!!

heck - I just did a quick food shopping and I feel like I could nap for a week!!!!

With me on bedrest, Dh has totally stepped up. He keeps the house cleaner than I did before!

I actually find it easier to do 15 minutes cleaning and then take a 15 minute break. Sure it takes twice as long to clean - but it's easier on the body

I have become "laid back" in term of housecleaning.

I actually found that cleaning the bathtub was easier if I do it while "naked" just before taking my own shower. A little bit on and off before I shower. Much easier than big clean up.

DH had to start pitching in when he saw me in pain from trying to do laundry and dishes on my own. He soon realized, I can't carry the vacuum in the house either (it's in our garage). Now he gets mad if I carry out a simple bag of garbage.

He's still a slob and I still have to pick up his stinking socks all the time , but it's a small price to pay for all the heavy stuff I've avoided doing all this time.

I hired a cleaning lady at 7 months. I just couldn't keep up and it's been a godsend.

My cleaning was seriously cut in half. I just couldnt keep up.

DH did chip in and do a lot more, but not so consistently...so It suffered.

We just had less guests...LOL...and dealt with it.

I do a little bit each day. On Thursday evening I dust and organize my whole whole house, Friday evening I'll clean the bathroom, Saturday I do the floors and my laundry, and Sunday I fold all of my laundry and organize things again. I keep my kitchen clean everyday and clean up everytime I do something in it. I found that if I do things little by little, my house stays cleaner for longer and its not as strenous on me...my husband helps out...sometimes...

I lucked out with this. For almost all of my 2nd trimester, we lived in a hotel.

Then for my 3rd, I had a lot of visitors, so they cleaned.

I've tried to do my regular cleaning in a day and it just doesn't work out that well-so I started to try to do one room a day but even that hasn't worked out....It's ok if you slack off a little bit-you've got the best excuse!

With a toddler and a dog, I just can't do it anymore at almost 37 weeks. I told my DH that we need to get a cleaning lady.

We do what we can when we can and you know what? The rest can wait!
