House Cleaning?

How much of the household chores and cleaning are you doing now that you are pregnant, and how much is DH doing?

Also, at what point did you find it hard to do the cleaning? At what point was it really too uncomfortable to do a good job?

DH pretty much just puts the laundry away --- and at that, he only puts the stuff away that he "knows" where it goes...which means --- he knows where his stuff goes, and where my stuff that goes in the closet goes. He doesn't put away DD's stuff (even though she is 6 and he should know by now where it all goes) nor does he put away my PJs, socks, undies, or any of the linens.

Other then that...the cleaning, bathroom, kitchen, floors, dusting, etc...all gets done by me.

I only do the floors every 2 weeks, even though I'd like for htem to be done more often. But rolling up the rugs, moving the furniture out of the way, stuff like that is starting to get hard for me and I realize that I probably shouldn't be doing it every week.

But I feel like if I leave it up to DH to get done, it either isn't going to get done at ALL or it will be done in his way, which is...not very well at all. He doesn't even think it is necessary to mop ... just vacuum, and I completely disagree.

I am just about 6 months now. 23 weeks and change. I know it is going to get harder. Scrubbing the tub, around the toilet bowl, stuff like that is going to get more difficult.

I really want a maid!! Or a self-cleaning house!

he has been really stepping it up. It's great but I feel bad. I have a 13 year old cousin who wants to earn extra money so I am going to have her come in as a helper starting pretty soon.

Dh helps with everything except cleaning the bathroom.
im on bedrest and can no longer do laundry unless dh carries it up and down the stairs for me. Dh and i share cooking duties and FIL does dishes.
Fil will vacuum and has never properly washed the floors. Tbis with a senior dog that poops everywhere.
I am seiously considering hiring a cleaning lady to do a thorough dusting and mopping once DS is born.

I think I do way more than I should and Dh does help alot- always has- but even more lately but we're in the middle of construction and re-moving in during 2nd into 3rd trimester and I can;t help but do too much even with all the help I have.

DH thinks that putting away clutter is cleaning.

I haven't been able to do a deep clean in forever. I want DH to have someone come while I'm in the hospital to clean the whole house and bring it back to sqaure 1.

I was down on the floor scrubbing moldings the other day and that just can't be happening at this point

DH works FT and I'm only PT so I do mostly everything. He has been helping much more than normal though. He does the dishes, keeps DD busy so I can get stuff done and he'll help with other stuff if I ask. He has a list of projects of his own so I try not to bother home too much. We're pretty much re-doing our entire house ourselves.

I mostly do everything now that I'm in my 2nd tri and feeling good. The 1st trimester--forget about it. DH had to clean I was so sick and had zero energy.

Now he mostly has to do lifting (like bringing the laundry down to the basement and bringing it back up) and vacuuming as those would bother my back.

We've always split the chores pretty evenly. He does the laundry, dishes and mopping. I do the rest of the cleaning. In the first trimester I was really wiped out so he pretty much did everything for about 6-8 weeks. I'm assuming towards the very end I'm not going to be able to do much again but we'll see!

We have a house keeper every other week, and it helps out a lot! My DH will help clean around the house for me, he does the laundry-I fold it. I'm getting very uncomfortable now at 35 weeks, so I can't do as much, but I'm still in that cleaning mode getting things ready for baby!

I'm still early so I do almost all of the inside cleaning. When I was bleeding I had dh carry the laundry up and down the stairs but I would wash. He does the outside work. Although I raked a little yesterday and today and cleaned the gutters. I feel ok, except being tired, so I feel I should do stuff while I still can

I am almost 33weeks and I do all the cleaning except DH will move anything heavy and will clean the bathtub for me and vacuum the stairs. Other than that i do it and am fine with it even with being on reduced activity by my dr.
