Hotel (with children) question
Especially if you stayed at the Eden in Lancaster.
Do you get "standard" rooms or suites?
I booked a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen @ the Eden. It was pretty expensive and I'm wondering if it's really worth the extra cost.
Just wondering what everyone else does. Thanks.

Re: Hotel (with children) question
When we go away with DS, we always try to get a suite. It is so much easier to have a separate area for him. Don't have to worry about tip toeing around when he is sleeping. And the kitchen is a bonus. You can make your own food and save a ton of money.

Re: Hotel (with children) question
We prefer to get a suite so that we're not stuck hanging out in the bathroom once the kids go to sleep. I know someone who hangs out in the hallway while their kids are sleeping but I'm not comfortable with that.
We also really like to have a kitchen (really a fridge with freezer) due to DS's food restrictions - it's easier to bring stuff from home for him that trying to find it all and cook it there.

Re: Hotel (with children) question
guess it depends on the kid. Mine doesnt go to bed before 9 anyway. and when she's out, she's OUT. No tip toeing or whispering needed. I have never gotten a suite because to me it is a total waste of money. Considering at most its about an hour of a full 24 seems wasteful to me. Plus my kid keeps us so busy during a day we practically beg her to sleep so WE can! Once we even shut off the TV and left her sitting in bed with us cause we were so tired.
I do like a fridge but I won't cook. I always say I will but I won't. LOL

Re: Hotel (with children) question
We stayed in a studio type room in Disney when DD#1 was 18 months. It was a little rough once she went to sleep. We tried moving the pack n play into the hallway but still couldn't really enjoy watching TV. It just gave us a little bit of space from her.
Once DD#2 came along, we started staying in a 2 bedroom suite to have more room. DH and I enjoying staying in the living room watching TV while the girls sleep and having a full kitchen saves lots of money. Even just on drinks and snacks. I also love having a washer/dryer so clothes are clean before we head home.

Re: Hotel (with children) question
We are going in two weeks and we got a one bedroom suite. I shared a room with DS once and told DH never again. It was so hard to get him to bed and when he was napping or in bed at night, we had to tip toe around and keeps the lights off. Totally worth the extra cost for us. My son never sleeps in bed with us. He only naps in his crib, and occasionally in the car. So we could never get his to sleep in the same room as us.
Having a small kitchen is also a bonus, especially with kids.

Re: Hotel (with children) question
we just got back from Eden. We stayed at a one bedroom suite. The bathroom is huge and right off the bedroom so once my DD fell asleep we put her in the crib in the bathroom . Believe it or not, there was more room in the bathroom for the crib then the bedroom. DD is a pretty solid sleeper so even if we had to pee she still didn't wake up.
ETA: there is also a small washer machine in the room. Just thought you might want to know. I didn't know until we got there and it was a life saver for me. DD wound up leaking through her diaper the first night so I was able to wash everything.
