Hot Flashes
I know this is going to potentially be a silly question. But I literally have no one to ask, so I am going to ask here.
Middle of the night last night, I woke up drenched in sweat. But I was not hot. Was this a hot flash?
I am 44.

Re: Hot Flashes
I have no idea but I wonder, too, what a hot flash feels like.

Re: Hot Flashes
Maybe ..... Could be the start of peri-menopause. Been getting night sweats on and off for a number of years now. I'm soon to be 51.

Hot Flashes
I've been getting night sweats too. Some nights I swear I must have accidently turned the temperature up on the AC, but I check it and its fine. I wake up dripping in sweat.
I am on the pill still and I get it more often when I'm on the placebo pills. I'm 47.

Hot Flashes
Usually a sign of perimenopause but can just be hormonal changes/premenstrual stuff. I get the drenching sweats a few days leading up to my periods the past couple of years. Doesn't help that it's 90 degrees out!

Re: Hot Flashes
i'm 44, too.
sounds like it might be the start.
i don't get night sweats, but i do get hot flashes in the daytime. sometimes, they beat me one after another... then there are times i can go a couple of months without a single one.
oh, what fun.

Re: Hot Flashes
I'm in surgical menopause and experienced some hot flashes while my body adjusted to lower hormones, but the best thing to do is to change your diet.
Take magnesium supplements and evening primrose oil. Cut the carbs, limit coffee/caffeine and liquor, and sugar. I get more moodyness/flashes when I deviate a lot from my diet. Eat clean.

I completely agree with this advice. If only I could give up coffee....
