I plan on delivering at North Shore LIJ
has anyone gone on a tour?

and how early or later do you go on take a hospital tour?

Any specific questions or thing that need to be asked or addressed?

Hospital Tours

I gave birth at North Shore LIJ. I went on a tour which was included with the child birth class that I took but I believe that you can call and schedule a tour individually without a class. I went when I was about 30 weeks pregnant.

I did not really ask many questions. For me it was more about finding out what their policies were about visitors, etc. I did not have a choice with hospitals since it was the only hospital my dr delivered at in Long Island.

I had an amazing experience there and feel free to message me with any questions.

I just did my tour at North Shore yesterday. I actually called the beginning of October to schedule (due Dec 10) and she told the first available was the first week in December. I asked her if there was any way to get in earlier as they thought I would go early- she "squeezed me in" for yesterday. (I'm now def having a C-section on 11.22) It was good- a lot of the information I already knew or already did (like getting a pediatrician, pre-registering, etc), but she walked through the steps of what happens for each type of delivery and they show you the rooms, etc.
