hospital stay for c-section
my sister in law is going in for a c-section this week, i was just wondering how long hospitals make you stay if everythign goes smooth....

I had to stay for 96 hours after the surgery (I'm in CT)

i believe it's largely up to your insurance company.
for a vaginal delivery - i get a 2 day stay
for a c-section - i get 3 days

I had my c-section on Tuesday and was released Friday morning so 3 nights once my dd was born

With our insurance, I had a choice of 3 or 4 nights. I chose the 4.
This time around I may choose the 3. I'll want to get home to DH and DS.
All depends on how Im feeling..My bathrooms are all upstairs, so, it makes it a little hard.

i was offered up to 4 nights. But i left after 3.

you are enttled to 96 hour stay following a c-section by law I am almost positive!!!!!
They try to kick you out after 2 days...don't be intimidated. If you are not up to going home...tell your doctors that you are not up to it. I stayed 4 days...remember it's major abdominal surgery that you are having!
