Hospital attire...
When can you change into a nightgown? After the baby is born or can you wear what you want during delivery? I assumed they would have you put on a hospital gown as soon as you arrive. True?

Re: Hospital attire...
I bet anything we wear during delivery is trashed... I also wouldn't be surprised if they require a hospital gown, in case of emergency procedures...

Gown.
And I didn't even bring a nightgown with me. I had a robe that I wore and then I changed in yoga pants and a top and then wore a gown again the next night.
THey want to check you.

Re: Hospital attire...
they like to keep you in the hospital gown as long as possible so its easier for them to check on you.. If your having a VBAC delivery I would say you can change quicker into something..I had 2 c-section and both times I didnt get to wear my own clothes till the day I left or the night before and I just wore comfy pants and a robe.and make sure you wear something dark because you bleed alot.

Re: Hospital attire...
i was put in a hospital gown when i got to triage, not even checked in yet. personally, i wore the hospital gowns with my own bathrobe after delivery and until the day i went home. maybe it's just me, but i found recovery to be very messy and was glad not to ruin my own pj's.

I had a c-section and wore the hospital gown until the following day. (I wore it until I was able to get up and they allowed me to shower)

Same here...when you first get checked in they give you the gown. I wore it during labor & then had a cs (9pm) & then wore it until I woke up & showered the next day.
Then I wore comfy BLACK yoga pants or PJ bottoms (no problem checking you--it was only 1-2x a day).

I did the same thing. I put on my own nightshirts so they were able to check my incision. I was lucky, I didn't bleed thru my pads so it didn't matter that I had on pastel nightshirts. I plan on doing the same thing this time too
