hors d'oeuvres?
I am having my sister, her boyfriend and her boyfriends parents, and my parents over on Saturday evening for a drink and small hor d'oeurves before they go out to dinner. (1st time parents are meeting parents!) Anyway, I have given ZERO thought into what I should serve. I am just going to have wine for drinks (I also have beer and some liquor on hand if need be), but I need some ideas for small bites to serve with the wine. I could just do cheese and crackers, but I wanted something slightly more substantial but not too heavy because they are going out for Italian right after. Also, I don't have a ton of time to prepare anything so maybe something quick too?
Any ideas??? Thanks!

Re: hors d'oeuvres?
maybe do a baked brie wheel, and another type of cheese, grapes, sliced apple and crackers on a platter. And maybe a dip and pita chips. If they are going out for dinner after, I wouldnt worry about putting out too much.

Re: hors d'oeuvres?
Since they are going out for Italian I would stop at the pork store and get the ingredients for a nice antipasto platter (fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, olives, peppers, etc.)

I agree. Get those giant stuffed olives (we call them shooters) Then all you need are some tooth picks!!

Or stuffed peppers with fresh provolone and prosciutto!
The Italian market down the block from me (Fratelli's) makes yummy ones.
