horrible morning.....wow!

so i have had morning sickness for a couple of days now BUT this morning was absolutely horrible! i woke up and went to make breakfast and i couldnt catch my breath and i got sweaty and thought i was gonna throw up. so i made my way to the bathroom but just continued to get worse so i made my way to my bed to lie down and i started to see black like i was going to faint! i grabbed for the bed and layed down and slowly got better. dh made me eat and drink. i feel alright now but i still feel woozy like im in a fog. im so dizzy and lightheaded its unbelievable. i have been off of work this past week bc im a teacher, im so scared when i go back tomorrow that i might feel this way while im workingChat Icon

any suggestions to help avoid, prevent or decrease these symptoms? my first visit isnt until the 15thChat Icon

Re: horrible morning.....wow!

I found that gingerale and starlite mints helped me with nausea. As far as preventing it the only thing that I can tell you sometimes works is eating very small meals throughout the day with heavy carbs. Try not to think about it too much and just eat and drink what you can and what feels good for you. With any luck it will be gone before you know it and you'll be back to eating again!

Re: horrible morning.....wow!

One other thing that I did this time around that helped me a lot was I kept crackers and water in the car so that if I started to feel sick I had something with me. Good luck!

Everyone is different so you will get lots of different advice on what to try.

For me each day was different also. What worked one day didn't another. Most days gingerale and animal crackers or crackers helped at least a bit.

Make sure you eat something small every few hours. It helps to control the morning sickness a bit.

Mint, Ginger and citrus are all natural remedies to ease nausea. Hang in there for most of us it eases up after the first trismester.

Re: horrible morning.....wow!

This sounds exactly like my syncope stuff I get pregnant or not. Is your BP on the low side? Be careful and slowly get up... don't change positions too quickly and if your BP is low a little extra sodium can be a life saver. Ask a doctor first of course. Since being pregnant I've had more of these episodes than usual and often I can just be sitting and start seeing stars. Be careful and feel better. Maybe the vomitting is depleting electrolites... I'd a doctor about drinking gatorade.

I'm sorry you're feeling so yucky! Chat Icon

It sounds like you are in your first trimester? I'm just about to start my third trimester, and many times in the last month or two I've felt like I was about to pass out.... things start going black, I feel nauseous, etc.

I talked to the doctor about it. They said that it coudl be caused by low blood sugar or low blood pressure. For the low blood sugar, they suggested eating small meals/snacks very often throughout the day. I find this very hard to do, but I've been trying and I think it's helping.

They also said to drinnk 10 glasses of water a day to keep my blood volume up or something like that. I think that is helping, too.

I've also started to try to take it easy more. I was really pushing myself - working, running errands after work, cooking dinner, etc. Basicially waking up at 530 am and going till 10 pm. Now I try as often as possible to rest, at least by sitting down for a few minutes, but preferably putting up my feet or laying down.

Hope this helps. Feel better!!!

Eat! Eat!! Eat!!!!

This happened to me and I felt like I was going to pass out and I was at work!
I think it was low blood sugar. I always keep a granola bar handy or just make sure I eat (something, anything) and always drink water.
