Hopes for VBAC are over
I truly wanted to have a VBAC with this baby, for more than one reason. I saw my third practice yesterday, and they said definately no. The second practice I went to, 1 or 2 doctors out of the 11 would be willing to do it, but if they're not the ones on when I go into labor, I'll have a really tough time. I'm very sad about this now. I feel like something has been stripped from me, since I was never given the opportunity to experience labor or birth the "regular" way. I know many will disagree with me, and that what's important is that my kids are here, healthy, but this is just how I feel. Once again, something most other people got, that I didn't.
And truthfully, I blame this all on the doctor who was covering for my regular OB's office when I had my first DD. If he had started a little pitocin during the first 24 hours of my water breaking, maybe I would never have needed that first c/s. I know there is no crystal ball to know for sure, but I feel like I was never given the opportunity. If Dr. Xerri ever puts his hand on me again, I will punch him in the face!!!!!!!

I'm so sorry! You have every right to feel upset and disappointed. I imagine I will feel the same way if I have to have a C-Section.
What are their reasons for refusing the VBAC?

Because I've already had 2 c/s and never a vaginal delivery. The risk of uterine rupture is too high. They said that if I lived in a less litigious state, like down south or in the midwest, I'd probably be able to find a doctor willing to do it no problem, but not here in NY.

What if u switch to a midwife? Worst case scenario is you end up with a c-section done by a hospital staff dr.

I know you are upset, but if they said the risk of uterine rupture was to high, I would listen to them. My uterus ruptured and I almost died from the internal bleed. It was no picnic. You have 2 dc and one on the way, I would do what ever would keep you safe and here for them.

Yes, I am. I'm just sad about it, that's it.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. Hope you have a great birth experience regardless. Just try to focus on the positives-like getting to meet your LO and knowing exactly what to expect.

Re: Hopes for VBAC are over
That is really tough. I'm sure I would have the same exact feelings as you if I was in that situation. Just know that you did what you could to try and have the experience you felt was stripped away from you, and that is all you can ask for. Short of giving birth in another state...that is what I did The good news is that soon you will have a happy and healthy baby to stare at and you won't even have time to dwell on the birthing process.

ITA, consult a midwife. i know a few ladies who had successful VBA2C. there are doctors/practices/midwives on Long Island who will do this, just not many. if your actual pregnancy is low risk it may be possible! good luck!

Re: Hopes for VBAC are over
Just wanted to give you some hugs. I can relate to your feelings about missing out on something you wanted. I wanted a natural birth my first time. Found out DS was breech and then my water broke so it was a section for me.
This time I wanted to try VBAC and was so glad my doctors were (mostly) supportive as long as everything was perfect and I did not go late. But DS #2 was also breech and would not stay turned when we tried. I was sooooo disappointed and while, of course, the most important thing was that the babies were safe and healthy, I wanted the experience.
I'm really sorry you don't think you will be able to get the VBAC you wanted. Be safe, but maybe a midwife can help you. Good luck!!!
